TOWER OF INTERMEDIA ART, KRANJ, SLOVENIA
Odprtje razstave: petek, 15. april, ob 20h
Voden ogled: sreda, 4. maj, ob 18h
Razstavljena dela, risbe, filmi in instalacije, gledalca seznanijo s hiper-prisotnostjo tehnologije v modnem in notranjem dizajnu, ter razgalijo psihološka stanja posameznika v razmerju do njega.
Plastenje digitalnih in analognih zvokov simulira razkorak med fizično in virtualno resničnostjo prikazano v filmih.

CLAIRVOYANT HUMANS
The project Clairvoyant humans revisits the desire to transcend beyond physical reality. The project addresses the idea of screens becoming the place of intertwining of digital, dream, spiritual and imaginary realms. The projects brings forth the juxtapositions between between rational and irrational, algorithmic and arcane, by use of materials and surfaces for scrying and contemporary interior elements such as lcd mounts and air humidifiers.
Indecision is an installation addressing our gaze into reflective surfaces. Man used to employ mirrors and water for the same purposes as he today uses the screen: to see beyond his own spacial and temporal realms. Through these surfaces, he could reach transcendence, states of trans, and enter dimensions beyond himself. The installation is a playground of surfaces we gaze into: keyboards, mirrors, water, and light.
Hiraeth station humours how the LCD screen can become a mystical tool, staging it in a symbolic triangle composition. The installation incorporates an air humidifier, featuring the film Hiraeth (played on loop), and becomes a mystical place of transcendence and self-reflection within a domestic interior environment.
The video Hiraeth revisits the experience of longing for a far away place. The video points to an experience of otherworldly, supernatural and arcane in a digital world. It addresses the thought of being able to control time and space, like a sorcerer inside the screen and inside one's mind, incorporating elements of text as the inner voice of self-reflection.
The word Hiraeth comes from Wales, and has no direct English translation – it means something in the lines of melancholic longing for a place that never will be. It's elusive meaning reflects the evasiveness of reality within the screen, where digital, imaginary and dream realities intertwine.
