WHAT ARE WE TERRORS TO ONE ANOTHER
Video; 2016
Running time: 5 min
The video revisits contemporary notions of body and technology in the light of William Blake's mythological poetry. The poetry over-voice narrating reconstructed Blake's poetry, reflects on subjects of gender, identity and female-male relationships, as we observe a couple in the act of repetitive aerobic, yoga and stretching exercises. Their body is a place of fictional wearables/techno-devices and headsets. The couple follows a choreography of rhythmic, repetitive, automatic gestures and movements. In the context of these movements, the purpose of their wearable devices soon becomes arcane, and certain tension and unrest becomes apparent in their otherwise formal aerobic choreography.
The video was awarded Squeeze award 2016, by Trieste Contemporanea, Italy.
